PTSC Newsletter for Feb 4, 2024

What a week we had! Not much sun, but the conditions were stellar! The forecast indicates the sun will come out of hiding this week and give us some  needed blue bird days.

Meet up: North Peak at 10:00 am Monday thru Friday. You can always find some friendly, smiling faces near the fireplace.

Looking for a creative activity on a weekend, learn an art form and come away with a finished piece? Check out “The 3 Sisters Gallery”! Our member Kyra Suwak discovered this wonderful art gallery in Gorham, NH (just a short easy drive from Bethel) this fall and has both taught and taken classes here. Deidre Blair is Artist/Owner of the gallery and strives to showcase local area artists of many mediums. Kyra is co-teaching the Sweetheart Enameling Class February 10th if you’d like to create a Valentine’s Day gift for yourself or a loved one.  Or try one of the other fabulous and fun classes.
Wow! There is a lot of interest in snowshoeing! Thank you all who responded to the last newsletter. There are many scenic areas to explore, but it Cyd felt we should start out easy and see where it goes. She is also looking for possible future locations. The first PTSC Snowshoe outing is scheduled for next Sunday at 2 at Valentine Farm. The trail is a 1.2. mile loop. Directions: From US-2 in Bethel, take the North Road approximately 0.8 miles. Valentine Farm Conservation Center  is on the left at 162 North Road.

Ski Lessons started Tuesday 1/23. If there is interest, a second group of four sessions would run 2/27, 3/5, 3/19, 3/26. Lessons are on Tuesday afternoons  from 1:00 to 2:30 and cost $139. If you’re interested, please email Brenda Saller. Brenda coordinates the list of names with the school office.  (These “4-packs” are a special program just for Prime Time.)

Senior Players welcomes anyone who is interested in any aspect of community theater, including all aspects of production, stagecraft, writing, and acting. A self-directed group, this session has no performance scheduled. They meet every Thursday, 2-4 pm, in Newry or Bethel (at Players private residence for now). It’s FREE, AND you don’t need to pay annual dues [$25] to Western Mountain Senior College to participate! We are talking about ideas for writing our own short plays (10-20 minutes), practicing improv exercises, and reading existing scripts, potentially for future performance, opening the weekend before Thanksgiving,  at the Auditorium on Gould Academy campus. Interested folks can contact Stacia via email for more information. It’s FUN!

Check out Prime Time Ski Club website for more information.  Please reach out to any board member with questions, suggestions for future event. With lots of new members we would love to add new ideas, adventures, and activities to our calendar. Come up with an idea and the board will assist you to help make it happen. We look forward to hearing from you. Just reply to this email. Enjoy our winter wonderland!
