Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all!

Skiing Awesome Tuesday thru Thursday this week!!! They have a good deal of terrain open, Barker, Locke, Spruce, Chondi and South ridge. Conditions are what we normally expect of the River and they are getting some snow, as well as blowing snow all over. But Friday was lots of rain. I took a few runs this morning before Christmas obligations set in. I took the first chair up with a patroller. He was saying stay on the groomed stuff, it’s hard and fast today. And it was! You still need to watch out for ice patches and I ran into a rock field at the top of Tourist trap, with golf ball sized rocks churned up. There’s a huge frozen pond in the dip near lift 6 (North peak chair). Dream maker is not open as a result. I gotta tell you, I am liking the new guy who is writing the reports on the River’s website. Honesty and reliability. I may learn to trust this guy!!! It’s exactly as he called it today!

Currently, we are meeting at Barker, weekdays, at 10 AM. North Peak has opened up, all week long! After the first of the year, we can all meet at North peak at 10 AM again. I stopped in and asked, twice, as there signs on the door saying weekends and holidays only. Their stated intention is to be open all season long!
