Folks,

Skiing is getting better this week!!! They have a good deal of terrain open, Barker, Locke, Spruce, Chondi and South ridge. Conditions are what we normally expect of the River and they are getting some snow, as well as blowing snow all over. More terrain is opening up!

Edit: I removed 14” of snow from my driveway, and when I got back to where I started, there were 4 more inches. Wet snow, great base material to spread all over the mountain!!!

Currently, we are meeting at Barker, weekdays, at 10 AM, until North Peak Lodge opens up. Some meet outside in front of the ski racks, others venture inside near the fireplace on the main level, taking a break and getting some coffee. What you do is up to you!

Ski Lessons
It’s never too late to learn something new!  Our first group of four Prime Time Ski Clinics are scheduled to begin Tuesday, 17 January (at 1:00 p.m. near the firepit in front of the school) and end on 7 February.  As expected, the price did go up to $119 for our “4-pack” of lessons;  $30 per lesson is still a pretty, darn good deal!  (A single, group lesson through the school is listed at $55!)  Like the mountain’s other group lessons, we will be divided up by ski level with usually 4-8 people per group.  Your 4-pack will need to be purchased in the ski school office before the first lesson; please mention Prime Time to help them with scheduling.  The ski school has penciled us in for another group of 4 lessons after 7 February, but the dates are still TBD.  If you’re interested, please contact Brenda Saller at gb1saller@gmail.com who is coordinating this with the mountain.

We have set a schedule for pot lucks and game nights, starting at 5:30 PM. Board meeting is at 4:30, just before the pot lucks.
Pot luck nights are January 19, February 16 and March 16, essentially the third Thursday of each month, at the Summit owner’s room.
Game nights are January 12, February 2, and March 2 at Cascades condo common room.

New member meet and greet is January 5, location TBD. New members meet with the board members at 4:30 PM, established members will join in at 5:30 PM.

Bowling is at 5:00 PM on every Thursday when we have nothing else scheduled, at River Lanes. It’s very informal, just show up, join up with friends and grab a lane and bowl. Dinner typically follows afterwards, either at River Lanes or somewhere else. Some folks don’t bowl, but show up about 6:30 for the dinner. All are welcome to join as they wish.

Monday movie night at the Gem. The Gem is, once again, open Monday evenings. This was a popular event and it is back. Again, very informal, just meet up with friends and watch a movie. Dinner often followed afterwards at a local restaurant.

A new member directory is attached.

Seeya on the slopes!
