PTSC Get together April 8 2024 Full Solar eclipse party

Hello all,

As many of you are aware, there will be a total solar eclipse across northern New England and ME on Tuesday April 8, 2024 including Rangeley ME (including Saddleback MT) and Carabasset Valley (Sugarloaf MT).

We own a timeshare in Rangeley and will be using our week to include the eclipse date.  The resort is year round and includes a rec center, as well as a pool, etc.  For more info see Rangeley Lake Resort | Rangeley , ME | Home

The resort consists primarily of 2 and 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabins with full kitchens etc. The 2 BR cabins are duplexes, and can be joined with the adjacent unit through a connecting door in the 2nd BR to form a 4BR 4 Bath unit with 2 full kitchens etc.  There are a total of ten (10)  2BR units in 5 buildings in a semicircle, and we can reserve all of them if we act early enough. For some families however the 3BR cabins might be more appropriate.  There is a minimum 2 night stay, and a $50 deposit is required.  Units can be reserved 365 days in advance of occupancy.

Because we are owners, our guests can get a 30% discount off the “rack rate” IF you mention POULIN ECLIPSE Party with your reservation. To get an idea of rates, go to the website and look up prices for the type of accommodation you desire for this April.  Rates may go up some for next year, but not a lot. For those who prefer more traditional accommodations see the chamber of commerce website for additional lodging choices : Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce (rangeleymaine.com).

Early April weather is variable and could include full winter conditions.  For sure the 2 ski areas will be open, and it’s likely there will be some cross country skiing and/or snowshoeing available, as well as possible snowmobile rentals. For non snow sports enthusiasts, there are several beautiful scenic drives in the area, and interesting museums.  I highly recommend the Stanley Museum in Kingfield ME, about an hour’s drive from Rangeley.  There’s also a fitness center and a bowling alley in Rangeley, several restaurants, and a decent supermarket.

I’m sending this out early so you have time to think about joining us.  Please feel free to forward this to family and friends. The more the merrier!  I’d also appreciate knowing if you’re planning to join us (so I can give the resort a heads up on approximately how many cabins we’ll need) by early April.

Hope you can join us!

Regards,

Sue Poulin
