Primetime weekend Wednesday September 13 thru Sunday September 17

Folks,

Our September weekend seems to get longer and longer, eh? There is nothing to say you have to come for the whole time. Or you can come for the whole time. Totally up to you. We’ve just found some people like this area so much, they tend to extend their stay!

Events for the weekend.
Golfing. About the only thing set in stone, as it were, is that there will be golfing every day! Check in with Terri Messer for Tee times and courses.  tmesser68@gmail.com or  (207) 671-0715

There will be a single day devoted to each of these activities. Again, participation is voluntary. These are weather dependent. All start times will be 10 AM.

Hiking Thursday Mystery Mountain in Rumford Point.  This trail is about 7/10 of a mile long, each way, and has a total elevation gain of 817 feet. For reference, Table Rock has about 900 feet of elevation gain over 1.2 miles each way. This hike will get your heart beating for a while, but it does provide some nice views of the Androscoggin River valley, with plenty of parking space at the trail head. Please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can meet and get our day packs loaded up. Bring some water and bug repellant with you. With all this rain, the bugs haven’t died off yet…

Kayaking Friday We are opting to once again start in Greenwood at the local boat launch. Plenty of parking and a choice of North Pond or South Pond, which we can, by consensus, or we can break the group in two and each do whatever they choose!  Please arrive about 9:30 so we can get boats unloaded and prepped so we can actually start kayaking at 10 AM. After 2 or 3 hours of kayaking, we’re likely to be plenty hungry.  The Hub is, literally, right next door, which provides some good lunch options.

Biking Saturday We’ll be starting at Davis Park in Bethel, again, at 10 AM. Again, plenty of Parking and a nice pathway past the skate park, and across a bike bridge over the Androscoggin River as we continue down bike paths to Valentine Farm and beyond. Afterwards, there are a multitude of lunch options in town. Please arrive a few minutes early to get bikes off cars and be ready to depart at 10 AM.
