Board Update May 1, 2013

Hi there,
Spring is here!!!

No fooling around today.  I have Suzie yelling at me because I’m not putting enough emphasis on the Bar Harbor trip (now less than TWO MONTHS AWAY!!!!).  OMG, how could I have missed it?  Honestly, May 10 (about 10 days is the cutoff for a block of rooms, so let’s put some thought into this if you’re considering going.  My wife told me I was considering going….ask yours!!!

Now that the important stuff is out of the way, let’s get to the little junk like have you signed up for the early buy season pass program.  Gotta move, it shuts down TODAY April 30 (that’s even before the Bar Harbor trip the end of June)!

Sunday River’s 2013-14 planned upgrades
SR plans to spend over $5 million on upgrades again this year. Much of the money will be spent on a new terrain park placed between Dream Maker and 3D (which will replace Barker’s Rocking Chair). I don’t know it that will change operation of lift 6 (NP quad) or not. Other enhancements are 200 more new snow guns generally to cover most of Jordan and Aurora, and a change to the Legends Restaurant (of questionable value if you ask me).

Century (100) Ski Day Club
Some of us got more days this year than others.  To my knowledge we had at least one member accomplish 100 days of skiing. Rick Mitchell made his last run (day 100) on April 11th, not too long before the mountain closed for the season. Rick got his first run in at Barker on opening day.
Any others who can meet or top Rick this year? Send me a note.

Again, I’ve been admonished for not putting enough emphasis on the annual meeting weekend…….IT’S IN THE FREEKING FALL, and most of you aren’t working with calendars like Beyonce.  Ghessh!
Annual Meeting Weekend
Save the Date!!!!!!!  Sept.  20-22.

If you didn’t read this and don’t know what’s going on….call me and I’ll read it to you.

Have a great May!!~
