PTSC Newsletter 16 November 2025

Yea! Hurrah! Bravo!… Finally!

Sunday River opened for the 2025-2026 season on 12 November! The snow guns have been running whenever conditions allowed and with a little help from mother nature.  Of course the terrain was limited to just a few (OK one) trail, but Sunday River has been working hard to get more trails in Barker, Locke and Jordan open soon.

So that means (if you haven’t already) it is time to get your ski clothing and gear out of the closet/garage/basement/attic and CHECK it OUT; Make sure its all ready for the season… Get a Fresh Tune (don’t wait until the lines are too long) and GET A RELEASE CHECK of your Bindings (it’s like insurance – you never know when you are going to need it).  The local ski shops are opening up and are well stocked; and several are offering PTSC discounts on Ski Services.

The first PTSC potluck dinner will be at 5:30 on December 11 at the exhibit hall/barn behind the Dr Moses Mason House; 10 Broad Street in Bethel (Bethel Historical Society House – Mason & Broad Streets).  Enter through the Side Door on Mason Street. We will have a guest Speaker: Glenn Parkinson, President of the Maine Ski and Snowboard Museum. He is a ski historian and collector and wrote the book “First tracks” about the history of skiing in Maine. His talk will be on “Why we ski”, and should be very entertaining.

Do you have BoyneRewards Points? If you haven’t heard already, you should be aware of some changes coming on December 15, 2025.  You’ll continue to earn one point for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases, but when you spend your reward points, their value is changing from $.05 to $.02. You have until 15 December to redeem your points at the current rate by purchasing reward cards (good for two years) that you can use online or on-resort for purchases. See BoyneRewards website for details.
