Board update, January 30, 2013

Well, we’re in the midst of a hot and cold spell. Last week’s temps probably averaged around the goose egg (0). Not so cold this week, maybe a little too not so cold with average temps about 30 degrees warmer. Hmm, what to do? Ski thru it. Some of the more hardy of your group found themselves skiing out and about in temps well below zero and wind chills on top of that. I’ll assume many more of us will brave a little wet snow, freezing precip and the like to get some skiing in this week too.
If the weather doesn’t suit you perfectly every day, how about a little fun. That we have.
Wine Tasting
Lynne has five (5) vacancies left for next Wednesday’s wine tasting. Any takers for a fun and intimate setting to learn a little about wines and drink a bunch too? If so, call 401-450-1571 or lyzucchi@gmail.com by Friday latest. $15.

Mid Season Potluck
Thursday, Feb. 14 (Valentines Day)
How we got from Season Opening to Mid-Season already boggles the mind, but we’re here. If you haven’t spent any quality time with your friends yet, time’s running low, and it’s Sweethearts Day as well so remind me to buy flowers for my wife! We’ll have only one more potluck after this and soon after we’ll be talking about spring skiing.
Go-50 week is ON
We’re already mid way through Go-50 for 2013. SR has pulled out all the stops and spent some dollars on making this a successful week. It’s working. From FREE coffee and cinnamon buns (morning) and the best ever passed appetizers (afternoon) along with a Maine Ski Museum Fireside Chat with yet to come dinners, a trip to the casino and of course, $10 demo day (unfortunately scheduled for a rain day – Wednesday). SR has done most everything our group has asked for and done it well along with great skiing (weather cooperating).
Sunday River’s deal
Here’s a new skier deal that’s impossible to pass up. SR is giving every season passholder one FREE LEARN TO SKI DAY including boots, skis, poles, a limited access pass and a four hour lesson…FREE!!! That’s the price of nada. The price of zip. The price is the doughnut (no filling!!). Here’s the link:
