PRIMETIME SPECIAL UPDATE ~ THE MONTH OF JANUARY

It’s pretty busy in the luxurious International Corporate Offices of Primetime. What a month it’s going to be for members. For those of you who are already up here at Sunday River, start blocking your calendar for every Thursday in January. For those of you who hadn’t planned on the trek up here, we may be able to change your mind.
Socially we think this may be the best month ever for Primetime events. It’s busy, yes, but all the events seem to be lining up to be simply terrific. Let’s have some FUN!!!
Thursday Jan. 10th
Welcome Back Members Potluck. As I’ve previously mentioned, we have a great Potluck dinner scheduled at 51 Vail Drive on Powder Ridge (Betsy Kilkenny’s). Time is 5:30 and directions are on my last missive now on the website. This will be our first “house party” in several year’s when the house hasn’t been named “Shiverick” and the dog hasn’t been named “Gus”. BYOB and a dish for 6-8 folks to share. Info on web site.
Thursday Jan 17th
This may be thee Primetime “premiere event” ev’aaaa (Boston slang for a really long time). Let me lay it out for you:
Beer Tasting and All You Can Eat (kinda) Sliders:
When: Thursday Jan 17th (a week from this Thursday)
Time: 5:30 pm
Where: Sunday River Brew Pub (inside right)
What: WOW!!
Drinks
Beers: You’ll be given a small 3-4 oz glass and we’ll have five (5) different SRBP home made house brews in pitchers. Try as many as you’d like in whatever order you choose. When you find one you like, go up to the bar and get a 16oz glass for $1.50 (IPA $2)!! *Only house brews, not bottles.
If you don’t like beer, we’ve got you covered! $4 for house wines all night plus of course bar drinks available.
Food:
Apps: When you come in we’ll have an appetizer buffet of nachos, a cheese plate and a green salad to pick from.
Sliders: After a while we’ll have the wait staff come around with three (3) different types of sliders (which are small buns with stuff in them!!). The three choices are beef, pulled pork, and chicken. Enjoy as many as you’d like but we hope you stop at four or five, besides you need to save room for…..
Dessert: Again the waitstaff will be around with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce (some call it hot fudge).
Fun:
Atmosphere: This will be set up as a cocktail party (no tables). We’ll be pretty much by ourselves, far from the bar, with the room set up to encourage a social interaction (fireplace, pool table, juke box, maybe even dancing if you bring shoes)
Cost: You won’t believe this…..$15 INCLUDING TAX AND TIP. Your Club is helping with the beer tasting.
Important: You need to call or email Suzie DuBois at 207-712-6661 or suziecurves@myfairpoint.net by 3pm Monday (Jan. 14) to sign up. Either pay Suzie or bring the $15 with you to the event (checks payable to Suzanne DuBois). If you sign up, we’re on the hook for the cost, so you’re on the hook for the cost (come or not). Not available at door, or after 1/14, and Primetime members ONLY.
Thursday Jan 24th
Special Ski Day at Mt. Abrams. Ski from noon until 4pm for $10pp plus $7,50 for a special Primetime only Apres Ski Party at 3pm. Everybody wants to ski a new mountain every now and again, and we’ve set up with our friends at Mt. Abrams a special day for Primetimers. Hop in your car and ski the back half of the day with our group then we’ll all have apps and drinks at three.
The idea is simple. We have another great, slightly smaller mountain, just minutes away. Time to explore a little and see what Mt. A has done to improve in the last few years.

Mon Jan 28- Thurs Feb 1st
Go-50 Week in conjunction with Primetime Ski Club.
The mountain and we have really worked well together and set up some truly fun things for the week, for NOT a lot of money.
Monday:
10am Cinnamon Bun and Coffee Social (with Primetime) at North Peak. Free coffee along with a great cinnamon bun!! Both SR’s marketing team and we at Primetime will be the welcoming committees.
3-4:30pm Welcome Social (at Barker). Come meet PT and enjoy free hors d’oeuvres and music.
4:30 pm, Celebration of Maine Ski History with our friend Scott Andrews (at Barker).
Tuesday:
Get this one, just made for Primetime and we should support it. The mountain went along with our recommendation for an inexpensive nice dinner w/fine wine.
6pm, Special Dinner. A four course dinner with four different glasses of J Lohr (Napa I believe) wines at Legends (Summit). Cost: $49/pp!!! We’ve been asking for just such an event and the mountain has delivered
Wednesday:
We’ve all been thinking about trying out some new skis, but nobody wants to pay $50 for a demo day, right? Again, our friends at SR have responded to our request and we have a………..
$10 DEMO DAY!!!! Go into SR Sports any time Wednesday and demo up to three pairs of skis for $10 total. I’m recommending you go early as there’s likely to be a bunch of folks interested in this deal.
Thursday:
Details unclear at this point but we’re working on it. Still a month or so away.
Summary
Now, all that said, you probably need to get together with your significant other and your calendar and get your car gassed up. We have one HECK OF A MONTH upcoming. Love to see ya. More info at www.primetimeskiclub.com
Skiing:
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. OMG, the skiing’s PHENOMENAL
