First Post of the 2016-17 Season!

ANNUAL PRIME TIME CLUB MEETING  The Annual Meeting was held September 18th preceded by two days of hiking, kayaking, golfing, biking, eating lobster, schmoozing at a potluck supper, browsing on the village green, and catching up with ski buddies.  Members met to review the past year, approve a Treasurer’s report, and vote on a slate of officers:

President – Norine Jewell      Vice President – Jack Kuchta    Secretary (and social chair) – Suzie Dubois     Membership Secretary – Lynne Zucchi       Treasurer – Norm Schwartz

We now look forward to THE FIRST POTLUCK SUPPER OF THE SEASON – December 15th, location to be announced soon.  Bring something for 6-8 people and BYOB.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY FOR 2016-17 SEASON – We will soon finalize the directory and send it as an email attachment with the names and contact information of everyone who has renewed their membership and confirmed that they wish to continue as a Super Senior (80+).  The directory is shared with club members only, and allows us to communicate freely among ourselves in the absence of a bulletin board, chat room, or other forum.  So if you haven’t yet renewed your dues and want to be included in the directory you should do so now.  Please include the late fee of $5 for a total of $20, and send to Treasurer, Prime Time Ski Club, P.O. Box 195, Newry, Maine, 04261.  New members who joined at the end of last season do not have to pay dues again.

INTERESTED IN SKI LESSONS?  The Board is assessing members’ level of interest in ski lessons to determine whether the club can play a role in facilitating them.  Please contact Jack Kuchta to let him know of your interest.

CLUB SOCIAL EVENTS – Our longtime social secretary Suzie is busy lining up discounts and fun activities and will have more to report at the potluck.  A number of you submitted ideas at the End of Year Dinner last March – thank you! – and we are taking them all in to account.

MEMBER NEWS  Club member Mary Ellen Gartner has sent along very encouraging news.  Following a serious neck injury last April and several months of recovery she has medical permission to ski with Maine Adaptive – so we’ll see her on the lower slopes early in the season and some of the easier intermediate slopes later on, sometimes in the company of club member MJ Shiverick who has agreed to be a “ski buddy”.

SEE YOU ALL AT THE DECEMBER 15TH POTLUCK      THINK  S-N-O-W
