Board update, November 15, 2012

Hi all,
As of this date, Sunday River is open, though only six trails right now. SR has shown an aggressive approach toward using the 300 or so new snowguns they’ve recently acquired. As the weather cooperates our sources at the mountain tell me they will be making as much snow as early as possible to assure all of us a great early ski season regardless of Mother Nature’s fickle attitude. Time for us to get ready.
2013 Event Schedule:
Attached is your first pass at what to expect from Primetime this ski season. Many things have already come together and are finalized, while several others need to be firmed up. Fortunately, we have a great start and quite a bit of time to do just that. As you read the event schedule, please note that we need members to jump in and take control of a few events. Please contact either Suzie or me to help out.
December Potluck:
As is our custom, we will have our Season Opening Potluck the second week of December (13th) at the Shivericks. Details are on the schedule. We’ll see you there.
2013 Discount Program:
This program is being prepared and will be ready for mid-December or so. In the meantime, Stor-a-Ski has informed us they are on board with Primetime again and are offering $75 for the season to store skis. It’s a lot better than lugging skis back and forth daily and they are located right at lift #2.
2013 Corporate Vouchers:
We have not seen our vouchers as of yet, however the early season deals at the mountain are less expensive than the corporate deal right now anyway. We’ll let you know when we get everything from the mountain.
Website:
All events (including what is attached) and discounts as available will be on the website, updated as they happen. We won’t be sending every update out. Website is www.primetimeskiclub.com
Membership:
We’re up around 130+ members so help out Anita abhask@aol.com, our membership chair. If your phone number, address or email address have changed in the past year or so, let her know. That way we can keep up with you. A couple of you have asked that only Board communications (these notes) be sent and to remove your email addresses from the overall list. We’re here to help so send those requests to Anita or me and we’ll do the best we can.
Dues:
Primetime renewal dues: $15. Please save your Treasurer and Membership chair a little time and trouble by sending your $15 renewal dues directly now rather than waiting until December 15th. Use either of these two addresses:
Bruce Marshman
5 Cushing Place
Scituate, MA 02066
Anita Haskell
8 Ruch Lane
York, ME 03909
Remember, members receive not only friends to ski with but also restaurant and ski shop discounts, corporate ski discounts, potlucks, dinners, wine tastings, ad-hoc events, trips to other hills, theater trips, and a lot of fun, plus you get to wear a really neat badge! The dues likely come back to you in spades plus your dues help with things like this……….
Board actions (Maine Adaptive Skiing):
When you see the MAS (formerly MHS) trainers in their clean, brand new jackets, you should feel good. You played a part. MAS informed us of the need for new jackets and their ability to “match funds raised” thru a corporate donor. Your Board acted quickly and contributed our 2013 fiscal contribution by 10/1/12 which therefore turned our $200 contribution into a total of $400 for MAS when matched. Congratulations MAS your new jackets and thanks Primetime!!!
The Board will be holding our next meeting right around the December potluck and will inform you of any developments.
See you soon.
Jeff
