Club Events – February 2014

President’s MessageThe 2013/14 Ski Season started out with a lot of fun events and some really good skiing (despite a lack of snowfall).

Reflecting back on December & January events, I’d like to thank the following members & ‘PT business Partner’, Sport Thoma.

  • Jan Stecchi (a new member) for hosting the 1st NEW Member Luncheon (January 13th at Frank’s Restaurant in Fall Line Condo complex)
  • Leigh Breidenbach for hosting 2 events sponsored by Sport Thoma (she is the Manager):  1) PT Demo Day & Lunch at Phoenix (Jan. 8th) & 2) Boot 101 Chat plus Wine & Cheese (Feb 6th). Educational, fun, great discounts, and a great addition to our ski area. This is a new store, but with ‘expert’, old familiar faces!
  • Lynne Zucchi hosting the Annual Wine Tasting (Feb. 5th) – exposing us to some great, locally sold wines.
  • Bruce Larson finished the ‘History of Prime Time Ski Club’ after spending over 6 months garnering input and information from every past President, early members (like Charlie Tebo), a Sunday River instructor of the Perfect Turn Prime Time Lesson Group (Mac Gray). A wonderful effort to preserve the history of Prime Time and expressed primarily through the eyes of Bob Rice. Bruce condensed the History down to four pages. If you’d like a copy simply e-mail Bruce at belarson44 at gmail.com and he will happily provide you one.

Our Board hosted some great Club events: 1) Pot Luck dinners and 2) the SR Brew Pub beer tasting & Italian dinner. However, one of our (non-Executive) Board members went above and beyond – Anita Haskell. Anita fell and broke her wrist in December but continued working through the busiest time of the year as Membership Chair. She wore a cast and was able to type with only ONE hand. You Go Girl! Don’t shake her hand, but please do express your thanks for her devoted efforts. The new Membership Directory was a huge job and opens many opportunities for members to connect – also credited to the efforts of Anita.
