PRIMETIME SKI CLUB NEWS

With Sunday River having great snow and nearly 100 trails open, Primetime members have been all over the mountain.  The skiing has been unanimously terrific.  Since the folks from MA, RI and CT find it difficult to think snow while experiencing high  temps, they’re leaving the trails wide open for all of us.  Come have some fun.

Primetime is all about minimizing ski injuries so a few basics to remember:

Ski in control, the injury you save may be mine.

When stopping on trails, meet only along the sides, above headwalls.

Stop downhill from your partners, not uphill and give space.

Give a wide berth to orange and green mid-trail signs, they don’t move.

It’s a big activity month for our members.  Tonight (Thurs.) we have a sign up only buffet at Roosters.  Next week we have a special meeting followed by a potluck dinner.  Then the week ends with our annual Portland Brunch and Theater Play.   We’ll talk about  the second half of the month later.

The Primetime Ski Club is an independent ski and social club welcoming anyone 50 and over.  They meet  weekdays at 10am at Sunday River’s North Peak Lodge to form daily ski groups based on ability, terrain, and social aspects.  Info at www.primetimeskiclub.com.
