Seems Mother Nature has finally found us all up here in the mountains. Just when we thought she’d completely given up on us she drops two nice big snow storms and even a frosting of three more inches over the weekend.  Now we’re talking great skiing for all.   Sunday River is in the best shape of the year and with the warmer temps, this is the time to get out and enjoy it.

Primetime has been busy.  Everyone’s getting a little time pressured and wants to make every ski day count.  Additionally, we’ve had events galore including a wine tasting cocktail party and a snow coach trip to Mt. Washington.  Scott Andrews from the Ski Museum of Maine came to visit and ski with us while doing an article on Primetime.  Sunday River’s Marketing heads also came up to “our playground” and skied with us as well.  Next week brings a scheduled trip to Wildcat for what we hope will be beautiful views of Tuckermans.

Primetime hit a milestone of sorts by signing up our 130th member last week.  While certainly not a requirement of membership, we have noticed many of our newest members are higher level (black or double) skiers.  The majority of Primetimers still fall into a blue to single black skiing ability, however we have many who enjoy taking it easy on greens too.  The good thing about skiing weekdays is that we pretty much pick and choose the best trails for what we feel like that day.

The Primetime Ski Club is an independent ski and social club welcoming anyone 50 and over.  They meet  weekdays at 10am at Sunday River’s North Peak Lodge to form daily ski groups based on ability, terrain, and social aspects.  Info at www.primetimeskiclub.com.
