Prime Time Ski Cub News

It seems that Jack Frost has decided to nip at our nose and toes this mid December.  How good it is for all of us Prime Time Skiers who have finally gotten our yards clear of leaves.  The skiing was good for all the skiers above intermediate levels in early December, but the skiing will certainly be fabulous by the time this article is before your eyes.  The Sunday River Snow Factory, the Wizards of Winter, is working night and day with 1900 snow guns, and so we skiers in the “prime” of life may begin skiing now, at the ski area with the most dependable snow in New England.

Who are the Prime Timers?  We are a group now boasting a membership of 130 adult skiers over 50 years old with intermediate to advanced skiing ability.  Our motto is “No one needs to ski alone”.  To that end PT members who are at the Mountain meet daily at 10:00 AM at the North Peak Lodge for a quick get together, and then we break off into small informal groups of skiers (4 – 8) for the rest of the morning.  We are primarily a social group, and we get together away from the Mountain for pot luck dinners as well as local restaurant fair from time to time.  We also do a few good deeds: this season we helped fund the purchase of new jackets for Maine Adaptive Ski instructors, as well as generally support Maine Adaptive Skiing and the local Mahoosuc Land Trust.

Come and join us.  See what we’re about at www.primetimeskiclub.com .  Don’t forget the Sunday River Winterfest December 14 – 16, where Santas abound and Eddy the Yeti lurks somewhere on the slopes.

The Primetime Ski Club is an independent ski and social club welcoming anyone 50 and over. They meet weekdays at 10am at Sunday River’s North Peak Lodge to form daily ski groups based on ability, terrain, and social aspects.
