Prime Time Ski Cub News

The cold weather night work of the Sunday River Snow Factory, the Wizard of Winter, is really paying a big dividend for us skiers in their “prime” who are skiing now, at the ski area with the most dependable snow in New England, Sunday River.  The number of Club members hitting the slopes has slowly increased over the week to occupy at least one long table in the Mahoosuc Room at 9:00 in the morning.  The skiing has been wonderful; it’s some of the best we’ll see all year given the outstanding weather this past week, mornings and afternoons of sunshine and little wind.  The trails that are currently open have some of the best corduroy seen in the North East right now.

The daily 10:00 AM Club meetings at the North Peak Lodge have not begun as the Lodge is not yet open.  However, Club members enjoyed their Season Opening Pot Luck Dinner which was hosted by the generosity of two local Club members.  An estimated third of the Club was in attendance.  The food was ample, varied and delicious as usual, a repast following a day of skiing for the lucky members there.  It was really a grand time enjoyed by all.

The Prime Time Ski Club endorses the Sunday River’s Go With The Flow safety program promoting the use of sound, personal judgment regarding speed and control when skiing and riding. Because “fast” skiing and riding may mean different things to different people, Go With The Flow reminds skiers and riders to be courteous and follow the pace of those around them. You will see green Go With The Flow banners on lift area signs and at key areas on the mountain. Go With The Flow focuses on three key messages:

Be Aware – Pay attention to your surroundings.

Respect Slow Zones – Slow down at orange signs and trail junctions.

Follow The Pace – Faster than those around you is too fast.

Come and join us.  See what we’re about at www.primetimeskiclub.com . The Primetime Ski Club is an independent ski and social club welcoming anyone 50 and over. They meet weekdays at 10am at Sunday River’s North Peak Lodge to form daily ski groups based on ability, terrain, and social aspects.
